課程概述

本課程希望使學生熟悉現代科技翻譯─軟體中文化現況相關的理論與實務，明白如何運用網路與軟體的專業技術和科技知識進行翻譯。此外，本課程透過個案分析與課程互動討論，以落實理論與實務的結合，更加貼近業界領域之需求。
課程中將使用翻譯練習軟體, 選取知名軟體廠商之網站、手冊、軟體等片段進行翻譯實作。並將搭配小組討論，以激發翻譯差異之探討。
課程亦將搭配知名翻譯實務界人士進行演講，將藉由示範及演練, 分享過往翻譯經驗，並針對學生未來從業的進路指導。
Through this course, the students are expected to be familiar with the knowledge of the current scenarios of IT translation and Software Localisation services, with a grasp of the overall picture on how to utilize the technical knowledge on the internet as a useful translation aid. Moreover, the students would be required to participate in the case study analysis, hands-on assignments, and the in-class discussion, in order to enhance the connection between theory and practice.
 

課程目標
 本課程旨在讓非相關領域或相關領域學生對於現今市場上的科技文件與業界中文化翻譯有基本認識，進一步介紹該文類的特性、翻譯方式與常見問題。
This course aims to guide the students to understand the basics of the overall environments of IT translations and Software localisation, and thereby introduces the characteristics, the translation approaches, and the common issues of this type of translations.
 
課程要求
 歡迎對本課程有高度興趣並能配合修習實作者修習本門課程。
本課程重視實務作業與研討，請勿缺課。
建議先修課程為「翻譯理論」或其他翻譯專題相關課程。
This course welcomes all the students who are interested in IT translations and would follow the course progress. Since this course focuses on the practical exercises, attendance is a critical element of the assessment. Students would be highly recommended to take the course “Translation Theories” or any relative courses first before taking this course.

Content: this lesson aims at introducing three major types of L10N translation: UA, UI and Marketing documents, and enhances the knowledge of them by the discussion on the differences among them.
